Ingredients

1 large French baguette

8 oz ribeye steak, thinly sliced

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 onion, thinly sliced

1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced

1 cup sliced mushrooms

2 cups provolone cheese, shredded

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon black pepper

Salt to taste

Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the sliced onion, bell pepper, and mushrooms. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes, or until the vegetables are tender and lightly browned.

Push the vegetables to the side of the skillet and add the thinly sliced ribeye steak. Season with garlic powder, black pepper, and salt. Cook until the steak is browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.

While the steak is finishing, slice the baguette in half lengthwise and place it on a baking sheet.

Spread the beef and vegetable mixture evenly over each half of the baguette.

Generously sprinkle the shredded provolone cheese over the beef and vegetables, ensuring an even layer.

Place the cheesy bread in the preheated oven and bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Remove the cheesy bread from the oven and let it cool for a couple of minutes before slicing.

Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, and serve warm.
