Properly washing and preparing vegetables is crucial for both freshness and presentation. Before cutting, it’s essential to rinse all vegetables under cold water to remove any dirt, pesticides, or bacteria. A salad spinner can help in drying leafy greens quickly, while a clean kitchen towel can be used for other vegetables. Ensuring that your veggies are clean not only enhances their taste but also promotes health by minimizing exposure to harmful substances.

Ingredients

1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved

1 cup cucumber, sliced

1 cup rainbow bell peppers (red, yellow, green), sliced

1 cup carrot sticks

1 cup celery sticks

1 cup broccoli florets

1 cup cauliflower florets

1 cup hummus (flavor of your choice)

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Salt and pepper to taste

Lemon wedges (for serving)

Instructions

Prepare all the vegetables by washing them thoroughly. Halve the cherry tomatoes, slice the cucumbers and bell peppers, and cut the carrots and celery into sticks. Break the broccoli and cauliflower into small florets.

In a large, attractive tray or platter, arrange the vegetables in groups, creating a colorful rainbow effect. Place the cherry tomatoes at one end, followed by the cucumber slices, bell peppers, carrot sticks, celery sticks, broccoli florets, and finally the cauliflower florets.

In a small bowl, add the hummus and place it in the center of the vegetable arrangement as a dip.

Season the vegetables with a sprinkle of salt and pepper, if desired.

For an added touch, sprinkle the chopped parsley over the arrangement to enhance visual appeal.

Serve with lemon wedges on the side for a refreshing zing that can be squeezed over the vegetables for extra flavor.
