Ingredients

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

2 large eggs

1 cup milk

1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

¼ teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ cup heart-shaped sprinkles (for mixing and decorating)

1 cup cream cheese frosting (store-bought or homemade)

Red food coloring (optional)

Fresh strawberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with heart-shaped paper liners.

Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

Cream Butter and Sugar: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy (about 3-4 minutes).

Add Eggs and Vanilla: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.

Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients: Gradually add the dry mixture to the creamed mixture, alternating with the milk. Start and end with the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Add Sprinkles: Fold in half of the heart-shaped sprinkles gently into the batter for a surprise in every bite.

Fill Cupcake Liners: Pour the batter into the prepared heart cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool: Allow the cupcakes to cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prepare Frosting: If desired, mix a few drops of red food coloring into the cream cheese frosting for a lovely pink hue.

Frost Cupcakes: Once cooled, generously frost each cupcake with cream cheese frosting using a piping bag or a knife.

Decorate: Top each cupcake with additional heart-shaped sprinkles and garnish with a fresh strawberry on top if desired.

Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour | Servings: 12 cupcakes

                            - Presentation Tips: Arrange the cupcakes on a decorative platter and place small heart-shaped candles beside them to create a romantic atmosphere. Add a sprinkle of edible glitter for extra sparkle!
