Ingredients

1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend for juiciness)

4 slices of sharp cheddar cheese

1/2 cup sautéed mushrooms

1/2 medium onion, sautéed until caramelized

4 soft brioche burger buns

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Butter for toasting buns

Lettuce and tomato slices for garnish

Optional: Pickled jalapeños for a spicy kick

Instructions

Prepare the Patties: In a bowl, mix the ground beef with Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Form into four patties, making a slight indentation in the center of each to prevent puffing while cooking.

Cook the Burgers: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on one side. Flip them and add two slices of cheddar to each patty. Continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the patties are cooked to your desired doneness.

Sauté the Vegetables: In a separate pan, add a little oil or butter and sauté the mushrooms until golden and tender. Add the caramelized onions and sauté briefly to combine flavors.

Toast the Buns: Melt some butter in a pan and toast the brioche buns until they're golden brown.

Assemble the Burger: On the bottom half of each toasted bun, place a lettuce leaf, followed by the beef patty with melted cheese, then top with sautéed mushrooms and onions. Add the tomato slices and optional pickled jalapeños. Finally, place the top half of the bun on the burger.

Serve: Serve the burgers hot with a side of crispy fries or a fresh salad.
