Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon nutmeg

3/4 cup buttermilk

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup pecans, chopped

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

1 teaspoon maple syrup (optional, for enhanced flavor)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan and set it aside.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.

In another bowl, mix the buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring gently just until combined. Avoid overmixing; it’s okay if there are a few lumps.

Fold the chopped pecans into the batter, ensuring they are evenly distributed.

In a separate small bowl, mix the brown sugar and maple syrup together until crumbly.

Pour half of the bread batter into the prepared loaf pan, then sprinkle half of the brown sugar pecan mixture over the top.

Add the remaining batter on top and finish with the rest of the brown sugar mixture. Use a knife to swirl the toppings slightly into the batter for a marbled effect.

Bake in the preheated oven for 55-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Once baked, remove from the oven and allow it to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour 20 minutes | Servings: 8 slices

                        - Presentation Tips: Slice the bread and serve warm or at room temperature. You can dust it lightly with powdered sugar for an elegant touch, or serve with a dollop of cream cheese on the side to enhance the flavor.
