Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons instant yeast

1/2 cup warm milk (110°F)

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 large egg

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 cup fresh strawberries, diced

1 egg (for egg wash)

2 tablespoons sugar (for sprinkling)

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes foamy.

In a separate bowl, mix 1 3/4 cups of flour and salt, and then add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Stir to combine.

Gradually add the remaining flour until a dough forms. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Transfer the dough to a greased bowl, cover it with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm area until it doubles in size (about 1 hour).

While the dough is rising, prepare the cheesecake filling. In a medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing well until no lumps remain. Fold in diced strawberries gently.

Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 12x18 inches.

Spread the cheesecake filling evenly over the dough, leaving a little space around the edges.

Starting from one long side, tightly roll up the dough into a log. Pinch the seam to seal.

Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them cut side up in a greased baking dish.

Cover the rolls with a cloth and let them rise for an additional 30 minutes.

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).

Beat the additional egg and brush it over the tops of the rolls, then sprinkle with sugar for a sweet crust.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the rolls are golden brown and cooked through.

Let the rolls cool for a few minutes before serving. Optionally, drizzle with a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and milk.

Prep Time, Total Time, Servings: 45 minutes | 2 hours | 12 rolls
