Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup milk

3 large eggs

2 teaspoons baking powder

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup fresh strawberries, puréed (plus extra for garnish)

1 cup whipped cream (for frosting)

1 tablespoon powdered sugar (for frosting)

Fresh strawberry slices (for decoration)

Instructions

Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the eggs to the butter mixture one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk. Begin and end with the flour mixture. Mix until just combined; be careful not to overmix.

Fold in the puréed strawberries gently until evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Divide the batter evenly between the prepared cake pans.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Once baked, let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

For the frosting, whip the cream in a medium bowl until it starts to thicken. Gradually add the powdered sugar and continue whipping until stiff peaks form.

Once the cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving platter. Spread a layer of whipped cream on top and add a few fresh strawberry slices.

Place the second layer on top and frost the top and sides of the entire cake with the remaining whipped cream.

Decorate the top with fresh strawberry slices and any leftover puréed strawberries for a touch of color.

Prep Time: 25 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour 10 minutes | Servings: 10 slices

                              - Presentation Tips: Serve the cake on a beautiful pedestal stand or a decorative plate. Dust with a little powdered sugar just before serving for an elegant touch and pair with a dollop of extra whipped cream on the side.
