Ingredients

2 cups long-grain white rice

4 cups chicken or vegetable broth

1 stick (½ cup) unsalted butter

1 medium onion, finely chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper to taste

¼ cup fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then drain well.

In a large saucepan, melt the stick of butter over medium heat. Add the finely chopped onion and cook for about 3-4 minutes until it becomes translucent.

Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Add the rinsed rice to the saucepan and stir well to coat the rice in the buttery mixture. Cook for about 2 minutes, allowing the rice to toast slightly.

Pour in the chicken or vegetable broth, and add the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Bring the mixture to a boil.

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the saucepan, and let it simmer for 18-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.

Remove the saucepan from heat, keeping it covered for an additional 5 minutes. This will help the rice to steam and become fluffy.

Fluff the rice with a fork and stir in the chopped parsley or cilantro for added color and freshness.

Serve the buttery rice warm as a side dish or a base for your favorite protein.

                    Prep Time: 10 min | Total Time: 35 min | Servings: 4-6

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve the rice in a large bowl, garnishing with a few sprigs of fresh parsley or cilantro on top. For an extra touch, drizzle a little melted butter over the finished dish before serving.
