Ingredients

1 lb flank steak

4 ciabatta rolls

2 cups arugula

1 medium tomato, sliced

1 red onion, thinly sliced

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

1 cup mayonnaise

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 tablespoon lemon juice

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

Instructions

Prepare the Garlic Aioli: In a small bowl, combine the mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and Dijon mustard. Mix well until smooth. Season with salt to taste and set aside in the refrigerator to allow the flavors to meld.

Marinate the Steak: Season the flank steak with salt and pepper. Drizzle with olive oil and let it marinate at room temperature for about 20-30 minutes.

Cook the Steak: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the marinated steak on the grill. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness is achieved. Remove from the heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

Toast the Rolls: While the steak is resting, slice the ciabatta rolls in half and lightly toast them on the grill or in a toaster.

Assemble the Sandwich: Start by spreading a generous amount of garlic aioli on the bottom half of each toasted roll. Layer with sliced steak, a handful of arugula, tomato slices, and red onion rings. Top with the other half of the roll.

Serve: Cut the sandwiches in half diagonally and serve immediately with extra garlic aioli on the side for dipping if desired.
