Ingredients

8 mozzarella sticks

8 strips of bacon

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs, beaten

1 cup panko breadcrumbs

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

Cooking oil (for frying)

Optional garnishes: sliced green onions or ranch dressing for dipping

Instructions

Preheat Your Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Wrap the Mozzarella: Take each mozzarella stick and tightly wrap a strip of bacon around it. Secure the ends with toothpicks if needed (optional).

Prepare Breading Station: Set up a three-bowl breading station. In the first bowl, add the flour. In the second bowl, beat the eggs. In the third bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.

Bread the Stick: Dip each bacon-wrapped mozzarella stick first into the flour, then into the beaten eggs, and finally coat it in the seasoned panko mixture. Press gently to ensure the breadcrumbs stick.

Fry the Sticks: In a large skillet, heat about 1/4 inch of cooking oil over medium heat. Once hot, add the breaded mozzarella sticks in batches, frying until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes on each side. Remove and place on a paper towel to drain excess oil.

Bake for Final Crisp: Transfer the fried sticks to the prepared baking sheet and bake for an additional 8-10 minutes to ensure the bacon is fully cooked and crispy and the cheese is gooey.

Serve and Enjoy: Remove toothpicks if used and garnish with sliced green onions. Serve warm with ranch dressing or your favorite dipping sauce.
