Ingredients

1 lb ground beef or turkey

1 packet taco seasoning

1 can (15 oz) refried beans

1 can (10 oz) diced tomatoes and green chilies, undrained

1 cup sour cream

1 cup cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1/2 cup sliced black olives

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (for garnish)

Tortilla chips (for serving)

Instructions

In a large skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef or turkey until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.

Add the taco seasoning to the meat along with a splash of water (about 2 tablespoons), stirring to combine. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the seasoning is fragrant.

In a slow cooker, layer the refried beans evenly at the bottom.

Spoon the seasoned meat mixture on top of the refried beans.

Pour the diced tomatoes and green chilies (with their juice) over the meat layer.

In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and sour cream until smooth. Spread this mixture over the tomatoes evenly.

Top with both types of shredded cheese (cheddar and Monterey Jack) and the sliced black olives.

Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 2-3 hours, or until everything is heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Once done, carefully mix everything together before serving.

Sprinkle with fresh cilantro for a pop of color and freshness.

                      Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 3 hours | Servings: 6-8
