Ingredients

4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced

1 large onion, chopped

3 cloves garlic, minced

3 carrots, sliced

2 celery stalks, diced

4 cups chicken broth

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1 pound kielbasa or German sausage, sliced

1 cup heavy cream

Salt, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

In your slow cooker, add the diced potatoes, chopped onion, minced garlic, sliced carrots, and diced celery.

Pour in the chicken broth and stir in the dried thyme, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Mix well to combine the ingredients.

Layer the sliced sausage on top of the vegetable mixture. Do not stir this yet; let the sausage rest on top to enhance its flavor during cooking.

Cover the slow cooker and set it to cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the vegetables are tender and the flavors meld together.

Once cooking is complete, stir the soup gently to combine it well and add the heavy cream. Let it cook on low for an additional 15-30 minutes to heat through.

Taste the soup and adjust salt if needed.

Ladle the soup into bowls and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.

                Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 8 hours | Servings: 6

                  - Presentation Tips: Serve the soup in rustic bread bowls for a complete German experience. Top with extra parsley and a drizzle of cream for an elegant touch.
