Ingredients

1 unbaked pie crust (store-bought or homemade)

6 large eggs

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup whole milk

1 cup grated Gruyère cheese (or Swiss cheese)

4 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled

1 small onion, finely chopped

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh chives or parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

If using a homemade pie crust, roll it out to fit your pie dish, trim the edges, and place it into the dish. Pre-bake for 10 minutes, then remove from oven.

In a skillet over medium heat, cook the chopped onion until translucent and lightly caramelized, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside to cool slightly.

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, and whole milk until fully combined. Season with salt and pepper.

Stir in the grated Gruyère cheese, cooked bacon, and the cooled onions into the egg mixture until evenly distributed.

Carefully pour the filling into the pre-baked pie crust, ensuring an even distribution of ingredients.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the quiche is set and lightly golden on top. A knife inserted in the center should come out clean.

Once baked, remove the quiche from the oven and let it cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing.

Garnish with fresh chives or parsley before serving for an aromatic touch.
