Ingredients

2 (8 oz) ribeye steaks

Salt and fresh ground pepper to taste

2 tablespoons vegetable oil

2 large onions, thinly sliced

3 cloves garlic, minced

2 cups beef broth

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 tablespoon all-purpose flour (for thickening)

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Fresh parsley, chopped for garnish

Instructions

Season the Steaks: Generously season the ribeye steaks with salt and pepper on both sides.

Heat the Oil: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the vegetable oil. Once hot, add the steaks and sear for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until your preferred doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet and set aside.

Sauté the Onions: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add the sliced onions. Cook, stirring frequently, until they are golden brown and caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.

Add Garlic: Once the onions are nicely browned, stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute until fragrant.

Create the Gravy: Sprinkle the flour over the caramelized onions and garlic, stirring well to combine. Gradually pour in the beef broth, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

Season the Gravy: Stir in the Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, and season with salt and pepper to taste. Let the gravy simmer for about 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly.

Return the Steaks: Return the seared steaks to the skillet and spoon the onion gravy over them. Allow them to simmer together for another 5 minutes, letting the flavors meld.

Finish with Butter: Stir in the unsalted butter into the gravy just before serving to enrich the flavor.

                  Prep Time: 10 minutes | Total Time: 45 minutes | Servings: 2

                    - Presentation Tips: Plate the steaks with a generous helping of onion gravy on top and sprinkle with freshly chopped parsley. Serve with creamy mashed potatoes or crusty bread to soak up the delicious gravy!
