12 oz fresh mozzarella cheese, cut into sticks

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

1 cup breadcrumbs (preferably panko)

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried parsley

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Vegetable oil for frying

Marinara sauce for dipping

Prepare the cheese sticks: Begin by cutting your fresh mozzarella into uniform sticks about 3 inches long. Set aside.

    Setup the breading station: In three separate bowls, place the flour in the first bowl. Beat the eggs in the second bowl. In the third bowl, combine breadcrumbs, garlic powder, oregano, parsley, salt, and black pepper. Mix well to combine the herbs evenly with the breadcrumbs.

      Coat the cheese sticks: Dredge each mozzarella stick first in the flour, ensuring it's completely coated, then dip into the beaten eggs, letting any excess drip off. Lastly, roll the cheese sticks in the seasoned breadcrumb mixture, pressing gently to adhere the crumbs.

        Freeze for firmness: Place the breaded mozzarella sticks on a baking sheet in a single layer and freeze for at least 30 minutes. This step helps the cheese hold its shape when frying.

          Heat the oil: In a large, deep skillet or pot, heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Use a kitchen thermometer for accuracy.

            Fry the mozzarella sticks: Carefully add a few frozen cheese sticks to the hot oil, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 1-2 minutes on each side or until they're golden brown and crispy.

              Drain and serve: Use a slotted spoon to remove the mozzarella sticks from the oil and transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Repeat with the remaining sticks.

                Serve with marinara: Serve your crispy mozzarella sticks immediately with a side of warm marinara sauce for dipping.
