Ingredients

2 packages (25 oz each) frozen cheese ravioli

1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 large egg

2 cups fresh spinach, chopped

1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (oregano, basil, thyme)

2 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Start by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Cheese Mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, half of the grated Parmesan cheese, the large egg, chopped spinach, dried Italian herbs, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Layer the Casserole: In a large baking dish, spread a thin layer of marinara sauce on the bottom. Then, place a layer of frozen cheese ravioli over the sauce.

Add Cheese Mixture: Spoon half of the ricotta cheese mixture over the ravioli, spreading it out evenly. Repeat the process with another layer of marinara sauce, more ravioli, and the remaining ricotta mixture. Finish with a final layer of ravioli.

Top with Sauce and Cheese: Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the top layer of ravioli, ensuring it is well covered. Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the sauce.

Bake the Casserole: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil (to prevent burning) and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes. After 25 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.

Let it Rest: Once baked, allow the casserole to rest for about 10 minutes before serving. This will help it set and make it easier to cut portions.

Garnish & Serve: Garnish with fresh basil leaves if desired. Serve warm and enjoy this decadent dish with a side salad or garlic bread.
