Ingredients

4 cups water

4 black tea bags

1/4 cup honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste)

2 lemons, juiced (about 1/2 cup of lemon juice)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Lemon slices, for garnish

Fresh mint leaves, for garnish

Ice cubes

Instructions

In a large saucepan, bring 4 cups of water to a boil over medium-high heat.

Once boiling, remove the saucepan from heat and add the black tea bags. Allow them to steep for about 5–7 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.

After steeping, remove the tea bags and stir in the honey or agave syrup while the tea is still warm. This helps to dissolve the sweetener more effectively.

Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and vanilla extract to the tea mixture. Stir gently to combine all the flavors.

Let the tea cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour until cold.

To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the chilled lemon vanilla tea over the ice.

Garnish each glass with lemon slices and a few fresh mint leaves for an added pop of color and flavor.
