1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup cream cheese, softened

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 large egg

1/4 cup milk

Zest of 1 lemon

2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease it.

    In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

      In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and butter together with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.

        Add granulated sugar to the cream cheese mixture, and mix until well combined.

          Incorporate the egg into the mixture, followed by the milk, lemon zest, lemon juice, and vanilla extract. Mix until all the wet ingredients are fully combined.
