Ingredients

1 lb sirloin steak, cut into bite-sized pieces

3 tablespoons olive oil

Salt and pepper, to taste

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped

1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves

For the Cheesy Mashed Potatoes:

2 lbs potatoes, peeled and cubed

1/2 cup milk (or cream for extra richness)

4 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Salt and pepper, to taste

2 tablespoons butter

Instructions

Prepare the Potatoes: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the cubed potatoes and cook until fork-tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain and return to the pot.

Make Mashed Potatoes: Add milk, cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, and 2 tablespoons of butter to the potatoes. Mash together until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Keep warm while you prepare the steak bites.

Sear the Steak Bites: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Season the steak pieces generously with salt and pepper. Add the steak to the hot skillet in a single layer, making sure not to overcrowd the pan.

Cook the Steak: Sear the steak bites for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until they are nicely browned and cooked to your desired level of doneness. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Prepare Garlic and Herb Butter: In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium and add the butter. Once melted, stir in the minced garlic, chopped parsley, rosemary, and thyme. Cook for about 1-2 minutes until the garlic is fragrant but not burnt.

Combine: Return the steak bites to the skillet, tossing them in the garlic and herb butter until well coated. Cook for an additional minute to reheat.

Serve: Plate the cheesy mashed potatoes alongside the juicy steak bites, drizzling any leftover garlic herb butter from the skillet over the steak for extra flavor.

                  - Presentation Tips: Serve the steak bites on a rustic wooden board or a stylish plate, with the mashed potatoes piped elegantly using a pastry bag. Garnish with extra herbs or a sprinkle of cheese for added visual appeal!
