Ingredients

1 pound ground beef

1/2 pound ground pork

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped

1 large egg

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups marinara sauce

4 sub sandwich rolls

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Olive oil for cooking

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef and ground pork. Add breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, egg, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Shape the meat mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until cooked through and browned.

While the meatballs are baking, heat a skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Pour in the marinara sauce and bring to a simmer.

Once the meatballs are done baking, transfer them to the skillet with sauce, ensuring they are well coated. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

Slice the sub rolls lengthwise, but not all the way through. Lightly toast them in the oven for about 5 minutes for extra crunch.

Remove the rolls from the oven and fill each with a generous portion of meatballs, followed by a ladle of marinara sauce.

Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top of each sub. Place the subs back in the oven and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Remove from the oven, let cool slightly, and serve warm.

                      Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour | Servings: 4

                        - Presentation Tips: Serve the meatball subs on a wooden board garnished with extra chopped parsley and a sprinkle of cheese on top for visual appeal. Pair with a side of crispy potato fries or a simple green salad for a complete meal.
