Ingredients

4 cups all-purpose flour

1/4 cup granulated sugar

1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) instant yeast

1 teaspoon salt

1 cup whole milk, warmed to 110°F (43°C)

1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup brown sugar, packed

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened (for filling)

Optional: 1/2 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

For the glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons milk, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, granulated sugar, instant yeast, and salt. Mix well.

Combine Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the warmed milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract until well blended.

Create the Dough: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Mix with a wooden spoon until combined. Gradually add in the remaining flour, one cup at a time, until the dough begins to pull away from the sides of the bowl.

Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Form it into a ball and place it in a greased bowl. Cover with a kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Prepare the Filling: In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and softened butter until a paste forms. If using nuts, stir them in.

Roll Out the Dough: Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle about 16x24 inches.

Apply Filling: Spread the cinnamon mixture evenly over the rolled dough, leaving a small border around the edges.

Roll and Slice: Starting from one long end, tightly roll the dough into a log. Slice the log into 12 equally sized rolls using a sharp knife or dental floss.

Second Rise: Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let them rise for another 30 minutes. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) during this time.

Bake: Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.

Make the Glaze: While the rolls are baking, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.

Glaze and Serve: Once out of the oven, allow rolls to cool for about 10 minutes, then drizzle the glaze over the warm cinnamon rolls.

Prep Time: 30 mins | Total Time: 2 hrs 10 mins | Servings: 12 rolls

                            - Presentation Tips: Serve the cinnamon rolls stacked on a beautiful cake platter or individual servings on decorative plates. Garnish with a sprinkle of powdered sugar and a dash of cinnamon for that extra flair!
