Ingredients

1 cup dried hibiscus petals

4 cups water

1 cup fresh pineapple, diced

1 banana, sliced

1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup (optional)

1/2 cup coconut milk or almond milk

Ice cubes (optional)

Mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

Begin by brewing the hibiscus tea. In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil.

Once boiling, add the dried hibiscus petals and reduce the heat. Simmer for about 10-15 minutes, then remove from heat and let it cool completely.

Strain the brewed hibiscus tea into a bowl or jar to remove the petals. Discard the petals and let the tea chill in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.

In a blender, combine the chilled hibiscus tea, diced pineapple, sliced banana, honey or agave syrup (if using), and coconut or almond milk.

Blend on high until smooth and creamy. If you prefer a colder smoothie, add a handful of ice cubes and blend again until combined.

Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary by adding more honey or syrup.

Pour the smoothie into tall glasses and garnish with fresh mint leaves on top.
