Ingredients

2 large egg whites

1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon Jello powder (any flavor of your choice)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of salt

Optional: Edible glitter for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 200°F (90°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a clean, dry mixing bowl, add the egg whites and cream of tartar. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until soft peaks form.

Gradually add in the granulated sugar, a tablespoon at a time, while continuing to beat the mixture on high speed until stiff, glossy peaks form (about 5 minutes).

Gently fold in the Jello powder, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt using a spatula, making sure not to deflate the meringue.

Using a piping bag or a spoon, drop small mounds of meringue onto the prepared baking sheet, about 1-inch apart. You can create swirls or peak shapes for visual interest.

Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and let the meringues bake for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until they are dry to the touch and easily lift off the parchment paper.

Turn off the oven and leave the meringues inside to cool down completely, which will help them become crisp.

Once cooled, remove the meringues and, if desired, sprinkle with edible glitter for a festive touch.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 2 hours 30 minutes | Servings: About 24 cookies
