Instructions
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, granulated sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
In a separate bowl, mix the diced apples, milk, egg, and vanilla extract. Stir until the apples are evenly coated.
Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring just until combined. If desired, fold in the chopped walnuts for added crunch.
Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C) for about 3-5 minutes.
Lightly coat the air fryer basket with cooking spray. Using a spoon or a small ice cream scoop, drop spoonfuls of the batter into the air fryer basket, making sure they are not touching.
Air fry the fritters at 350°F (175°C) for 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and cooked through.
Remove the fritters from the air fryer and let them cool on a wire rack for a few minutes.
Dust the warm fritters with powdered sugar before serving.
