Ingredients

2 pounds of chicken wings

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons paprika

1 tablespoon garlic powder

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust for heat preference)

1/2 cup orange juice

1/4 cup fresh lime juice

2 tablespoons honey

2 tablespoons soy sauce

Zest of one orange

Zest of one lime

Fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preparation of the Wings: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to ensure they get crispy during baking.

Mix the Spice Rub: In a large bowl, combine the salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Toss the chicken wings in the spice mixture until they are evenly coated.

Marinate the Wings: In a separate bowl, mix the orange juice, lime juice, honey, soy sauce, orange zest, and lime zest. Pour this marinade over the spiced wings, ensuring they are well-coated. Let them marinate for at least 30 minutes in the refrigerator, or up to 2 hours for more intense flavor.

Bake the Wings: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and arrange the marinated chicken wings in a single layer. Bake in the preheated oven for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are golden brown and crispy.

Caramelize the Sauce: For extra flavor, pour the leftover marinade into a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 5-7 minutes until thickened slightly.

Toss and Serve: Once the wings are done baking, transfer them to a large bowl. Pour the thickened sauce over the wings and toss until they are well-coated.

Garnish: Serve the wings hot, garnished with freshly chopped cilantro for a fresh touch.
