Ingredients

2 cups cooked chicken, shredded

1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 cup marinara sauce

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 package of puff pastry (2 sheets, thawed)

1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Fresh basil leaves, for garnish

Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, mozzarella cheese, grated Parmesan cheese, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly incorporated.

Roll out one sheet of puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8-inch thick. Cut the pastry into equal squares, approximately 4x4 inches each.

Place a generous tablespoon of the chicken mixture in the center of each pastry square, being careful not to overfill.

Fold the pastry over to create a triangle shape, sealing the edges by pressing them together with your fingers or a fork to prevent any filling from escaping during baking.

Brush the tops of each pillow with the beaten egg to give them a golden brown finish.

Repeat the process with the second sheet of puff pastry and the remaining filling.

Place the pillows on the prepared baking sheet and bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and puffed up.

Once baked, remove the pillows from the oven and let them cool slightly. Serve warm, garnished with fresh basil leaves and extra marinara sauce on the side if desired.

                    Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 45 minutes | Servings: 4

                      - Presentation Tips: Arrange the pillows on a serving platter, drizzle with additional marinara sauce and sprinkle with fresh basil for a pop of color. Serve them alongside a small bowl of marinara for dipping!
