Ingredients

2 cups water

2 Earl Grey tea bags

1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)

1/2 cup cherries, pitted and halved (fresh or frozen)

2 tablespoons cherry syrup (or simple syrup)

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Ice cubes (optional)

Fresh cherries and mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.

Once boiling, remove from heat and add the Earl Grey tea bags. Steep for about 5 minutes, depending on how strong you want the flavor.

While the tea is steeping, in a separate small saucepan, combine the pitted and halved cherries with 2 tablespoons of cherry syrup. Cook over medium heat for about 5 minutes, allowing the cherries to soften and infuse their flavor into the syrup.

Remove the cherry mixture from heat and let it cool slightly. Then, use a fork or a masher to gently crush some of the cherries to release more juice and flavor.

After steeping, remove the tea bags and transfer the Earl Grey tea to a separate pitcher. Add the cherry mixture (with syrup) and stir well to combine.

Pour in the milk and add the vanilla extract, stirring until combined. If you prefer iced tea, add ice cubes to your serving glass.

Serve the Cherry Earl Grey Milk Tea in a glass, garnished with fresh cherries and a sprig of mint.
