Ingredients

2 cups fresh cherries, pitted

4 cups cold water

2-3 tablespoons honey or agave syrup (adjust to taste)

Juice of 1 lime

Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Ice cubes

Instructions

Begin by rinsing the fresh cherries under cool water. Remove the stems and pit them if you haven't done so already.

In a blender, combine the pitted cherries with 2 cups of cold water and blend until smooth.

Place a fine mesh strainer or cheesecloth over a large pitcher and pour the blended cherry mixture through it to separate the juice from the pulp. Use a spoon to press down and extract as much liquid as possible.

Once you have the cherry juice in the pitcher, add the remaining 2 cups of cold water, lime juice, and honey or agave syrup. Stir well to combine all the flavors.

Taste the agua fresca and adjust sweetness if needed by adding more honey or agave.

Serve the Cherry Agua Fresca over ice cubes in glasses.

Garnish with fresh mint leaves for a refreshing touch and additional flavor.
