Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 cup basil pesto (store-bought or homemade)

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh basil leaves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

In a large oven-safe skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.

Add the seasoned chicken to the skillet and sear for 3-4 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove the skillet from the heat.

Spread a generous layer of basil pesto over each chicken breast, ensuring even coverage.

Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese over the pesto-topped chicken.

Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F or 74°C).

Once done, remove the skillet from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes.

Garnish with fresh basil leaves before serving.
