Instructions
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into triangles along the perforated lines.
Lay a slice of ham on each triangle, followed by a slice of cheese. If desired, spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on top of the ham.
Sprinkle freshly chopped chives and a dash of garlic powder, if using, over the cheese for added flavor.
Starting from the wide end of the triangle, carefully roll up each crescent to enclose the ham and cheese.
Place the rolled sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Brush the tops of the rolled sticks with the beaten egg for a golden-brown finish.
Sprinkle a pinch of salt and pepper over the top before placing them in the oven.
Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crescent rolls are puffed and golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool slightly before serving.
Notes
Serve warm with honey mustard or your favorite dipping sauce.
