Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cooked penne pasta, and marinara sauce. Mix until everything is evenly coated.
Stir in the Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and red pepper flakes, if using.
Transfer the chicken and pasta mixture into a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish.
Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese evenly over the top of the casserole, followed by the grated Parmesan cheese.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown.
Once done, remove from the oven and let it sit for 5 minutes before serving.
Garnish with fresh basil leaves for added flavor and a pop of color before serving.
Notes
Feel free to add vegetables like spinach or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
