Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1 cup diced apples (preferably Granny Smith)

1 cup walnuts, chopped

1/2 cup caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)

Extra caramel sauce for drizzling

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large bowl, beat the softened butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

Add Egg and Vanilla: Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until thoroughly combined.

Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.

Fold in Apples and Walnuts: Gently fold in the diced apples and chopped walnuts until evenly distributed throughout the dough.

Scoop the Dough: Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Drizzle Caramel: Before placing them in the oven, drizzle a small amount of caramel sauce on each cookie dough ball.

Bake: Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the centers look slightly underbaked.

Cool and Drizzle More Caramel: Once out of the oven, let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Drizzle more caramel sauce over the tops of the cookies as they cool.

Prep Time: 20 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: 24 cookies

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve the cookies on a rustic wooden platter, and garnish with whole walnuts and thinly sliced apples for an added touch of elegance. Optionally, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt on top of the caramel for a delightful sweet-and-salty finish.
