Ingredients

1 fully cooked bone-in ham (about 5-7 pounds)

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup honey

1/4 cup Dijon mustard

2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

1 teaspoon ground cloves

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/4 cup apple cider vinegar

1/2 cup pineapple juice

Whole cloves for garnish (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).

Remove the ham from its packaging and place it in a large roasting pan, cut side down. Score the surface of the ham in a diamond pattern, about 1/4 inch deep. This will help the glaze penetrate the meat.

In a mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, honey, Dijon mustard, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, apple cider vinegar, and pineapple juice. Stir until well blended into a thick glaze.

Brush a generous amount of the glaze over the scored surface of the ham, ensuring to get it into the cuts for maximum flavor.

Cover the ham loosely with aluminum foil and place it in the preheated oven. Bake for 1.5 hours, basting every 30 minutes with the remaining glaze.

After 1.5 hours, remove the foil and increase the oven temperature to 400°F (200°C). Bake for an additional 30 minutes to allow the glaze to caramelize and develop a beautiful golden-brown color.

Once the ham is caramelized and heated through, remove it from the oven and let it rest for at least 15 minutes before slicing.

If desired, insert whole cloves into the diamond-shaped cuts for garnish. This adds a lovely aroma and enhances the presentation.
