Ingredients

1 cup fresh blackberries

1 cup granulated sugar

1 cup water

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Pinch of salt

Instructions

In a medium saucepan, combine the blackberries, sugar, and water.

Place the saucepan over medium heat and stir until the sugar has completely dissolved.

Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer and allow it to cook for about 10-15 minutes. Stir occasionally, gently mashing the blackberries with a spoon to release their juices.

Once the mixture has thickened slightly and the blackberries are softened, remove the saucepan from the heat.

Add the lemon juice and a pinch of salt to enhance the flavor.

Let the syrup cool for a few minutes before straining it through a fine mesh sieve into a glass jar or container, pressing the solids to extract as much liquid as possible.

Discard the pulp or save it for another use, like topping desserts.

Allow the syrup to cool to room temperature before sealing and storing in the fridge.

Prep Time: 5 minutes | Total Time: 30 minutes | Servings: About 1 cup

                    - Presentation Tips: Drizzle the syrup over pancakes, mix into cocktails, or use it to sweeten iced tea and lemonades. Serve in a decorative bottle for gifting.
