Ingredients

1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated flaky biscuits

1 lb breakfast sausage (pork or turkey)

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

2 cups milk

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/4 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.

In a large skillet over medium heat, add the breakfast sausage. Cook until browned and fully cooked, breaking it up with a spatula as it cooks.

Once the sausage is browned, sprinkle the flour over the cooked sausage and stir to combine, cooking for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Gradually add the milk while continuously stirring, ensuring there are no lumps. Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 3-4 minutes until it thickens. Add garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt. Stir to combine.

Open the can of biscuits and cut each biscuit into quarters and distribute evenly in the greased baking dish.

Pour the sausage and gravy mixture over the biscuit pieces, ensuring all the pieces are covered. Optionally, sprinkle cheddar cheese on top for added flavor.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown and the casserole is bubbly.

Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and freshness.

                    Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 45 minutes | Servings: 6

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve the casserole directly from the baking dish with a sprinkle of extra parsley on top. You can also add a side of fresh fruit or scrambled eggs to create a delightful brunch spread!
