Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1/2 lb ground pork

1/2 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 large egg

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

2 cups marinara sauce

4 hoagie rolls

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Olive oil for drizzling

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, minced garlic, egg, oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix until evenly combined, but do not overmix to keep the meatballs tender.

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).

Shape the meat mixture into golf ball-sized meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. You should get about 16 meatballs.

Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until browned and cooked through.

While the meatballs are baking, heat the marinara sauce in a saucepan over medium heat. Once the meatballs are done, gently add them to the sauce, allowing them to simmer for an additional 5 minutes.

To assemble the subs, take a hoagie roll and slice it open lengthwise. Place 4-5 meatballs inside the roll with a generous scoop of sauce.

Top with shredded mozzarella cheese, then drizzle a little olive oil over the top for added richness.

Place the assembled subs back onto the baking sheet and cook in the oven for another 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a minute before serving.

                      - Presentation Tips: Serve the subs on a wooden board or platter, garnished with extra parsley and a side of chips or a simple green salad for color and crunch.
