Ingredients

2 ripe bananas, mashed

2 cups rolled oats

1/2 cup almond milk (or any milk of choice)

1/4 cup maple syrup (or honey)

1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)

1/3 cup dark chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8 inch baking dish with a little oil or non-stick spray.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the mashed bananas, almond milk, maple syrup, applesauce, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.

In another bowl, mix the rolled oats, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt. Stir until well combined.

Gradually add the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, stirring gently until everything is evenly mixed.

Fold in the chopped walnuts and dark chocolate chips if using, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the mixture.

Pour the prepared oat mixture into the greased baking dish. Spread it evenly with a spatula.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes before cutting into squares. Serve warm or at room temperature.
