Instructions

  1. 1

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, chopped green onions, grated carrot, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.

  2. 2

Take a wonton wrapper and place about 1 teaspoon of the chicken mixture in the center.

  3. 3

Wet the edges of the wonton wrapper with a little water, fold it in half to form a triangle, and press the edges to seal tightly. For added flair, you can fold the corners inwards toward the center, creating a purse shape.

  4. 4

Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add oil. Arrange the wontons in the skillet in a single layer (or place them in a preheated oven at 375°F if baking). Cook for about 2-3 minutes until the bottoms are golden brown.

  5. 5

If frying, add a few tablespoons of water to the skillet, cover immediately, and let them steam for 5 minutes until the chicken is cooked through. If baking, continue to bake for 15-20 minutes until crispy and cooked through.

  6. 6

Remove the cooked wontons from the heat and let them cool for a minute before serving.
