Ingredients

  • 2 whole ripe mangoes, diced
  • 1 whole red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 0.5 whole red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 whole jalapeño, deseeded and minced
  • 0.25 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 whole limes, juiced
  • to taste salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the diced mangoes, red bell pepper, and red onion.
  2. Add the minced jalapeño and chopped cilantro for a burst of freshness and flavor.
  3. Squeeze the juice of the limes over the mixture, ensuring to cover all the ingredients for that tangy zest.
  4. If you like an earthy note, sprinkle in the ground cumin and mix well.
  5. Season with salt to taste, starting with a pinch and adjusting according to your preference.
  6. Gently toss all the ingredients together until well combined, taking care not to mash the mangoes.
  7. Let the salsa sit for at least 15-20 minutes at room temperature to allow the flavors to meld beautifully.

💡 Chef's Notes

Serve in a colorful bowl, garnished with cilantro. Great with tortilla chips or as a topping for grilled meats.
