Ingredients

  • 1 cup milk (any type: whole, almond, oat, etc.)
  • 1 shot espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 0.25 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • a pinch cinnamon
  • to taste whipped cream (optional) for garnish
  • to taste extra maple syrup for drizzling (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan over medium heat, warm the milk until it's steaming, but not boiling. Stir gently to avoid scalding.
  2. Once the milk is warm, remove it from the heat and add the maple syrup, brown sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of cinnamon. Whisk until everything is well combined and the sugar has dissolved.
  3. Brew your espresso or strong coffee accordingly. If using coffee, make it as strong as possible.
  4. Pour the hot milk mixture into a large mug and slowly add the espresso or coffee on top.
  5. Use a milk frother or an immersion blender to froth the combined mixture until it reaches your desired level of creaminess (optional).
  6. Top with whipped cream if desired and drizzle a little extra maple syrup on top for added sweetness and presentation.
  7. Sprinkle a bit more cinnamon on top for an extra touch.

💡 Chef's Notes

Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more or less maple syrup and brown sugar.
