Sweet and Spicy Roasted Carrots Flavorful Side Dish
Ingredients
- 1 pound carrots, peeled and cut into uniform sticks
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 0.5 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- to taste salt and pepper
- for garnish fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, honey, ground cinnamon, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Whisk until well blended.
- Add the carrot sticks to the bowl and toss them in the sweet and spicy mixture until evenly coated.
- Arrange the coated carrots in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Roast the carrots in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until they are tender and caramelized, flipping them halfway through for even cooking.
- Once done, remove the carrots from the oven and let them cool slightly before transferring to a serving dish.
- Garnish with freshly chopped parsley before serving.
