Steak with Creamy Cajun Shrimp Sauce Irresistible Dish
Ingredients
- 2 steaks ribeye steaks (1 inch thick)
- to taste Salt and black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 8 ounces shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup green onions, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- for garnish Fresh parsley
Instructions
- Season both sides of the ribeye steaks generously with salt and black pepper. Allow them to sit at room temperature for 15-20 minutes before cooking.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the olive oil. Once hot, place the ribeye steaks in the skillet. Cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium-rare, or longer to desired doneness. Remove the steaks from the skillet and let them rest on a plate, covering loosely with foil.
- In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the shrimp and sprinkle the Cajun seasoning over them. Cook until the shrimp turn pink and opaque, about 3-4 minutes.
- Pour in the chicken broth and stir, scraping any bits stuck to the bottom of the pan. Then add the heavy cream and lemon juice, stirring to combine. Allow the sauce to simmer for about 5 minutes, letting it thicken slightly.
- Once the sauce has thickened, fold in the chopped green onions and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper if necessary.
- Place each ribeye steak on a plate and generously spoon the creamy Cajun shrimp sauce over each steak. Garnish with fresh parsley for an added touch of color and flavor.
💡 Chef's Notes
