Spiced Harissa Chickpeas Flavorful and Simple Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 cans chickpeas, drained and rinsed
- 3 tablespoons harissa paste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
- 0.5 teaspoon onion powder
- to taste salt and pepper
- 1 lemon juice
- for garnish fresh cilantro or parsley
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the drained chickpeas, harissa paste, olive oil, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Season the mixture with salt and pepper, then squeeze in the juice of one lemon.
- Toss everything together until the chickpeas are well coated in the spices and harissa.
- Spread the chickpeas on a baking sheet in a single layer.
- Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the chickpeas are crispy and golden brown, shaking the pan halfway through for even cooking.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
- Serve warm, garnished with fresh cilantro or parsley for a pop of color and flavor.
