Slow Cooker Butter Chicken Flavorful Easy Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons curry powder
- 1 tablespoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1 can (14 oz) coconut milk
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar

- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped (for garnish)
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- In the slow cooker, add the chopped onion, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir well.
- In a large bowl, combine the chicken pieces with curry powder, garam masala, turmeric, cumin, and coriander. Mix until the chicken is fully coated with the spices.
- Add the seasoned chicken to the slow cooker along with the coconut milk, crushed tomatoes, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir until everything is combined.
- Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is tender and cooked through.
- About 15 minutes before serving, stir in the lemon juice and adjust seasoning as needed.
- Serve the butter chicken over steamed basmati rice or with naan bread.
