Ingredients

  • 4 pieces soft sandwich bread or baguette-style bread
  • 250 g minced chicken or lamb
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • to taste fresh cilantro or parsley, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the minced meat, chopped onion, minced garlic, ginger paste, soy sauce, chili sauce, black pepper, and turmeric powder. Mix well until the ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, crack the eggs and whisk them until well beaten. Set aside.
  3. Heat a tablespoon of oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  4. Take a slice of the sandwich bread and dip one side in the beaten eggs, ensuring it's well coated. Let the excess drip off.
  5. Place the egg-coated side of the bread onto the skillet, and immediately spoon a portion of the meat mixture onto the bread, spreading it evenly.
  6. Dip another piece of bread in the egg and place it on top of the meat mixture, egg side facing down, forming a sandwich.
  7. Cook for about 2-3 minutes or until the bottom is golden brown. Carefully flip the sandwich over and drizzle a bit more oil around the edges. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the second side is also golden brown and the meat is cooked through.
  8. Remove from the skillet and let it cool slightly before cutting it in half.
  9. Garnish with fresh cilantro or parsley before serving.
