Savory Homemade Ham Cheese Sticks Wrapped in Crescents
Ingredients
- 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 8 slices deli ham
- 8 slices cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon dried parsley
- to taste freshly cracked black pepper
- 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface, and separate it into 8 triangles along the perforated edges.
- If using, spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on each triangle to add a flavor boost.
- Place a slice of ham on each crescent triangle, followed by a slice of cheddar cheese.
- Starting at the wide end of each triangle, roll up tightly to form a crescent shape, ensuring the ham and cheese stay tucked inside.
- In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, dried parsley, and black pepper. Sprinkle this mixture generously over each rolled crescent for added flavor.
- Brush the tops of the wrapped crescents with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Arrange the wrapped crescents on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each for expansion.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
