Ingredients

  • 1 can refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 8 slices deli ham
  • 8 slices cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley
  • to taste freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Unroll the crescent roll dough on a clean surface, and separate it into 8 triangles along the perforated edges.
  3. If using, spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on each triangle to add a flavor boost.
  4. Place a slice of ham on each crescent triangle, followed by a slice of cheddar cheese.
  5. Starting at the wide end of each triangle, roll up tightly to form a crescent shape, ensuring the ham and cheese stay tucked inside.
  6. In a small bowl, mix together the garlic powder, dried parsley, and black pepper. Sprinkle this mixture generously over each rolled crescent for added flavor.
  7. Brush the tops of the wrapped crescents with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  8. Arrange the wrapped crescents on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each for expansion.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  10. Once done, remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.

💡 Chef's Notes

Serve warm on a platter with a side of dipping sauce, such as honey mustard or marinara, for an extra touch of flavor. Garnish with fresh parsley to elevate the plate!
