Pesto Grilled Cheese Easy and Flavorful Delight
Ingredients
- 4 slices sourdough bread
- 1 cup fresh basil pesto
- 4 slices mozzarella cheese
- 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 0.25 cup sundried tomatoes, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- to taste salt and pepper
Instructions
- Begin by preheating a skillet over medium heat.
- Spread a generous layer of basil pesto on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
- On the non-pesto side of two of the bread slices, layer two slices of mozzarella cheese.
- Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the mozzarella, followed by the chopped sundried tomatoes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Top with the remaining slices of sourdough, pesto-side up to create a sandwich.
- In the heated skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Carefully place the sandwiches in the skillet and cook until golden brown and the cheese begins to melt, about 3-4 minutes.
- Flip the sandwiches carefully, adding the remaining tablespoon of butter to the skillet, and cook for another 3-4 minutes on the other side until crispy and golden.
- Remove from the skillet and let them cool slightly before slicing.
