Ingredients

  • 1 pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • for garnish lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and melt the butter.
  2. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to let it burn.
  3. If using, sprinkle in the red pepper flakes for a touch of heat and stir to combine.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for about 2 minutes on each side, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  5. Add the lemon juice to the shrimp and toss everything in the pan to coat evenly.
  6. Remove from heat and sprinkle with fresh parsley. Toss again to mix.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with lemon wedges for extra zest.
