Ingredients

  • 1 whole ripe mango, diced
  • 2 whole ripe avocados, diced
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 whole jalapeño pepper, seeds removed and minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 whole lime, juiced
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)

Instructions

  1. Start by preparing the mango: peel it, remove the pit, and dice the flesh into small cubes. Place in a large mixing bowl.
  2. Next, dice the avocados and add them to the bowl with the mango. Be gentle to avoid mashing the avocados.
  3. Finely chop the red onion and add it to the mango and avocado mixture.
  4. Carefully mince the jalapeño and add it to the bowl, adjusting the amount based on your heat preference.
  5. Add the chopped cilantro to the bowl, followed by the lime juice.
  6. If desired, sprinkle in the ground cumin for a unique twist.
  7. Gently fold all the ingredients together until well combined.
  8. Season the salsa with salt and pepper to taste, mixing again to incorporate the seasonings.
  9. Let the salsa sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld before serving.
