Irresistible Orange Chocolate Chip Cookies Easy Delight
Ingredients
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 2/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 large zest of orange
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 2/3 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1 2/3 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter mixture, mixing until fully incorporated.
- Stir in the orange zest, blending well to incorporate the bright citrus flavor into the batter.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips and chopped walnuts (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, drop generous spoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving enough space between each cookie for spreading.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers are still soft.
- Remove from the oven and let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
